I Tried

    It's been several different seasons here lately in Texas. Just last week we had summer, fall, and a bit of winter!  I also have a drone that I have been waiting to fly. Wednesdays are my day off and I looked at the weather and saw that it would be 80 degrees outside!  Yes my yard needs to be cut but you have to find time to have a bit of fun every now and again right!  So I charged my batteries and went to the backyard to get some flight time in!  My intention was to take off from my hand and take it as far as I could go to make an "extreme selfie"!  Here's how it turned out...

    As you can see it was a total failure. The wind was blowing too hard and the drone would not go any higher than it did. I was going to delete the video and wait for another clear day to scratch my flying itch. But this failure reminded me of something.

9 The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.

We may plan things for our lives that we believe to be best and at times we can see with certainty that they are!  AT times we KNOW what is right for our lives but at times it does not line up with the better that God has lined up for us that we cannot see yet.  It's far off!  But it is there!  It's OK to plan your life, but it's prudent to include God.  Our dreams of steak may be 70/30 ground beef compared to the filet mignon that God has for us in the future!

    I had every intention of flying my drone today. I prepared, I was patiently waiting on a day without rain, and I even got a bit of work done!  But it did not work out for me. And I was and am OK with that. At times we will fail and may want to hide it from the world.  I did not want to do that as my failure made me think of God's word. As we make plans in our hearts let us remember who directs our steps.  Multiple failures may just be the next step in God's plan to get you to the greatness that he has for you!  If you can't see it immediately don't worry because the God that stands with you in your failure today is at the same time standing with you in your success tomorrow!  Through it all stick with God!  Be blessed!
